Lightcliffe Cricket Club – Under 7’s Coaching Sessions
Dear Parents/Carers,
We would like to wish you all a very warm welcome to the new season at Lightcliffe Cricket Club.
Weather permitting we aim to coach the Under 7 children every Friday evening from 6.15pm to 7.30pm until mid-September. If the weather or other circumstances prevent us from being able to coach then we will let you know as soon as possible via e-mail.
The subs will be £2 per child per session this year which will be collected each week. The tea room will also be open for warm and cold drinks and snacks. An exciting development this year will be that hot food will also be offered in the form of hot dogs, pizza and chips thanks to our new catering team.
There will be various events during the season, as per last year, such as mini-games during the tea interval at senior fixtures, the ever popular barbeque evenings, end of season presentation and much more. Dates for these events will be sent to you in due course via email. There will also be an inaugural u7s fixture vs Blackley CC on a date to be arranged in June.
The aims of our ‘mini’ sessions are to promote an enjoyment of cricket whilst also focusing upon key skills. In order to do this, we expect children to show a level of respect for each other, the equipment and the coaches. By listening and following instructions given by the coaches, we can establish a safe and productive session.
If any child continually disrupts the focus of the group then the coaches will ask the child to move away from the group. At this point, we would appreciate it if you would approach your child and support the action taken by the coach.
If your child has any additional needs that may impact on their ability to participate in the session then please could you indicate this by email return to Chris Taylor (christaylor@allroundercricket.com) or Alex Stead (zani_stead@hotmail.com)
Many thanks in advance for your support and we look forward to another fun and successful season at LCC.
Yours sincerely,
Chris Taylor & Alex Stead
