Lightcliffe to host prestigious Cup Final

Lightcliffe to host prestigious Cup Final

Stephen Naylor16 Mar - 19:29

Lightcliffe Cricket Club is delighted to have been asked to host the Bradford Cricket League’s Gordon Rigg Jack Hampshire Cup Final 2025.

We will welcome the finalists on Sunday 10th August for the 40-over match which decides who will lift the Cup that was first contested in 1982.

Won last year by Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club, the competition has never been won by Lightcliffe although we have only entered the Cup for 2nd and 3rd division Bradford Premier Lesgue clubs since the summer of 2022. Every season prior to 2022, LCC were in the Priestley Cup.
Our 1st XI will start their Cup run in the second round on Sunday 15th June having received a bye in the first round which takes place on Sunday May 4th.

Richard Leach, chair of Lightcliffe Cricket Club, said:

“In our 150th year, and with our new Pavilion fully up and running, we are proud to have been asked to host the final of one of Yorkshire’s most prestigious Cup competitions. The Club look forward to welcoming the finalists, their supporters and cricket lovers from across the area to Lightcliffe in August for the conclusion of the 43rd Jack Hampshire Cup.”
