Following the postponement of the Under 13 Cup Final last Sunday (we are still awaiting confirmation of the new date/venue) our Under 9s and Under 11s will play their Bradford Junior Cricket League Cup finals this Sunday at Bankfoot CC, near Odsal BD6 4PR.

The Under 9s are pictured following their semi-final win v Saltaire CC on Wednesday evening and will face an Undercliffe CC side who made the final when Tong Park Esholt conceded the semi-final. The winners will receive the Gordon Bowers Cup.

Our Under 11s will negotiated a tricky pathway to the final beating always strong Moorlands in an earlier round before defeating Pudsey St Lawrence in the semi-final. In the final we play a very talented Keighley side who beat the always strong Great Horton Church team in their semi-final. Keighley will include Yorkshire U11 County Age Group opening bowler Joe Powell plus 4 western region U11 players in Harry Wilkinson, wicketkeeper Harry Robinson, Haroon Nazam and left arm spinner Hashim Hussain - all four were also members of the Bradford Junior Cricket League U11 team who were Yorkshire champions this summer.. We, of course, have one U11 County Age Group player in Monty Ramsden plus one at U10 in Alex Gillgrass in addition to western regional players Ayaan Akram (U11) and Will Sweeten, Lucas Arnot and Ted Stead (U10.) Our 4 western region players all played for the Halifax League U11 side this summer along with Luke Barrowcliffe whilst Oliver Frearson, Harry Dalzell, Jack Anderson and wicketkeeper Owen Horne were all members of the successful Bradford League side.
The Ernest Jones Trophy will be awarded to the u11 cup winners following the 25 overs per side final where a bowler can bowl a maximum of 5 overs and there are no retirements for batsmen.
All support for both young "Villagers" teams will be welcome.
