The Club came together to mark the end of another busy season with our Annual Club Dinner & Awards Night.

We celebrated all our players, coaches and volunteers and handed out awards for our top performers of 2024.

We also awarded a series of special honours:

  • The RR Firth Memorial Trophy for Outstanding Performance of the Season went to 16-year-old George L & 18-year-old Yusuf M for their incredible partnership of 248 for the fourth wicket in the 1st XI win over Keighley
  • The Chairman’s Award went to Martin Barrowcliffe for his outstanding work on managing the build of the new Clubhouse
  • The Donald Garside Trophy went to Roger Stead for his incredible long service over so many years at the Club

Pictured here is Ted Stead collecting the award on the night and then handing it over to his grandad Roger, who was unable to be with us on the night

The Annual Club Dinner was the final of a series of celebrations for all our teams and all our players – from U7s all the way through to our four senior teams.

It included a 100% record for the U15s, winning both the Halifax Junior Cricket League Division A and the Collinson Cup whilst the U13s also won their age group Collinson Cup - a testament to the strength of our junior teams with over 130 young members signed up in 2024.

From the 50 U7 boys and girls having fun and learning the basics on a Friday night, to our U9s who won three games in six days with 22 different players competing, and the many older juniors who step up week-in, week-out to play for our senior sides.

Club Captain Alex Stead said:

“Congratulations to all our award winners and indeed to all our players, their families and our supporters throughout the season. I am always immensely proud of what we achieve both on and off the field, and I know our junior teams and the emerging young talent is the envy of clubs across this area and beyond.

"This doesn’t happen by accident - it takes a huge amount of hard work from a large number of people and I want to pass on my thanks to each and every one of them who gives their time and energy to support the Club, from our coaches and ground staff to scorers and Clubhouse volunteers. From me, a huge thank you and we look forward to seeing you for our events over the winter and pre-season for 2025 which will be here before we know it!”
